How to Check a Pakistan Job Advert Before Applying

Updated 10 October 2026 · Job7u editorial team

An advert copied between job boards can lose its date, application address or a later correction. Verify the opportunity before preparing documents or paying a fee. The method below turns an advert into a small evidence record you can check again.

1. Identify the notice, not just the employer

Write down the employer, exact post title, reference or case number, location, advert date and closing date. Two adverts from the same bank or department may concern different roles. A search result headed “latest jobs” is not evidence of an open vacancy.

Open the employer or recruiting body’s website independently and navigate to recruitment. Compare the notice number, role and date with the advert you found. A source image should be readable enough to confirm its fine print. If it is blurred or cropped, obtain the full version before relying on it.

2. Check dates and changes

Distinguish the date a blog posted an article from the employer’s closing date. Look for an extension, corrigendum or withdrawal. A walk-in interview timetable is different from an application deadline: it may invite only people who applied earlier. Do not assume a revised blog year changes the original notice.

Record Your evidence
Exact role / reference Copy from the primary notice
Closing date / time Check original notice and later changes
Submission route Portal, email, post or interview instructions
Checked on Record when you last read the source

3. Verify where your information goes

Read the full destination address before entering CNIC or CV information. A link’s visible label may name one employer while its destination points elsewhere. Reach the portal through the employer’s website rather than an unsolicited message. HTTPS helps protect a connection but does not establish that a site is a genuine recruiter.

Check whether the notice accepts a portal submission, postal documents or another specific route. Never apply a universal rule such as “post is not accepted” to every vacancy. When alternatives are allowed, keep proof for the route you actually use.

4. Separate a stated application fee from a promise of selection

Some recruiting processes publish a fee and payment instructions. Verify the exact amount and route in the current official instructions. A private demand to pay for guaranteed selection, an interview slot or a release of salary is a reason to stop and verify independently. Do not send money to a personal account simply because a message contains an employer logo.

5. Resolve gaps before submission

If the source does not state salary, experience or vacancy count, mark it “not stated”. Ask the recruiting body’s published contact channel about a material gap. Avoid supplying unnecessary private documents to a job-board operator. Keep the advert, correction notices and your submission receipt together.

A worked check

Illustrative example: a job board says an assistant post closes on 15 November, while the employer PDF says 10 November. Treat the earlier primary-source date as controlling unless the employer publishes an extension. Record both URLs and the conflict; do not guess that the blog knows about an extension.
